Real Techniques Modern Natural Make-up kit | Full Review + Swatches

Hey Beauties...
Yesterday I shared with you my thoughts on Real Techniques Night Owl Make-up Kit, which you can read here, I did go into quite a lot of detail about the Make-up kits in that post, but basically Real Techniques is a Make-up Brush Brand Created by Sam Chapman from Pixiwoo and recently saw Sam sister and other half of Pixiwoo join the team. They have recently graced us with two Limited Edition Make-up Kits, there are two kits to choose from:
-Modern Natural
-Night Owl (review)
As I mentioned both kits are Limited Edition and only available from WHILE STOCKS LAST!

So onto my thoughts of the Modern Natural Make-up Kit. Just like the Night Owl Kit, Modern Natural comes in a black and white box, with a picture of Sam and Nic on the back along with the QR barcode which you can scan on your smart phone to watch the Make-up tutorial using this palette, on YouTube. There is also some recommendations as to what Real Technique brushes to use with this palette to achieve the best results.

The kit comes in a cardboard case, with a flap lid that fastens with a magnet to help stop the case unexpectedly opening whilst in a bag, it does stay open nicely while using it and will self close if you give it a little nudge. There's a clear plastic window so you can see what colours are inside, the plastic is a little too flimsy for my liking but I do like the style of it. If I'm honest I'm not overly impressed with the packaging, just because I do feel the material is a little cheap, but it does mean the palettes are more affordable, so I'm not complaining too much!

Real Techniques Modern Natural Make-up Kit | $25.00 / £14.86
Modern Natural is more on the lines of neutral shades, perfect for creating natural day make-up looks and also give you the option to create more evening looks. Each kit contains 4 Eye Shadows, a Gel Eyeliner, a Powder Blush, Cream Highlighter and 2 Lip Glosses. (almost) everything you need to create a full faced look, all stored nice and neatly in this compact travel friendly kit. These kits will definitely make our travel bags a lot lighter and neater.

For the eye shadows and gel eyeliner, the Modern Natural Kit contains:
-Quicksand: Cream coloured highlight shade, with a satin pear finish. This shade also features in the Night Owl kit.
-Gold Metal: Gorgeous Gold shimmer, amazingly pigmented.
-Caramel Mocha: Silky matte warm brown
-Nightshade: Satin taupe shade, with iridescent silver flecks, satin finish.
-Dark Chocolate: Deep chocolate brown, Gel eyeliner.

Each eyeshadow is amazingly pigmented, really easy to work with and blend like a dream! The gel eyeliner glides on the lids beautifully! As the eye shadows are so pigmented I do recommend lightly applying the shades to start with if your going for a more natural look and building colour, to avoid overloading the colours.
Same as the Night Owl Kit, the names of the shade are not on the kits anywhere, and only feature on the website which I think is a shame and would of been nice to have a label or something on the back of the box with names on.

The Blush is in the shade 'Sunset' and is a gorgeous pearly matte peachy pink colour, perfect for giving a nice glow to the cheeks.
The highlight is 'Champaign' and also features in the Night Owl Kit. Its a stunning silky cream highlighter and is very lightweight! So just be careful with this as you don't want to over apply.

As for the two Lipglosses I am really not impressed with these, on their own at least. Both of them are basically just clear glosses with a hint of colour, however I do think they will be great to just throw in a bag for touch ups on a night out as they are travel sized. The glosses last about 3 hours on the lips and as they do not really have a lot of colour to them, they dont leave any tint on the lips once they have worn off.
Again I feel it would of been nice if Sam and Nic teamed up with Tanya Burr on these kits for the glosses, as I feel it would of been a nice touch to include some travel sized glosses from Tanyas collection, Chic and Picnic in the park would of been perfect for this palette.

With this Kit I also received a free Pointed Liner Brush, the same one I recieved with the Night Owl kit. I love this brush as I feel it is perfect for applying the gel liner that comes in the kit. Its so easy to use and wipes clean very easy after each use, preventing product build up and stopping the brush going hard from the gel liner.

Overall I am in love with this palette and do think this is my favourite out of the two. The pigmentation of the shadows are really impressive and so easy to work with! I have been using this kit almost every day since I got it (I've been swapping between the two) and just simply love them! I personally feel the need to use a primer but that's just because my eyelids seem to need them with ALL eye shadows, these shadows last on my lids for about 5 hours without a primer and All day with a primer.

As I have mentioned these are Limited Edition, WHILE STOCKS LAST and only avaliable from for $25.00 which converts to roughly £14.86 (please keep in mind and conversion charges your bank may apply) postage is really reasonable aswell I payed £2.40 for both palettes, postage does increase depending on the amount of items you order.

If you want to find out more information on the palettes or see what the Night Owl kit looks like then please head over to my previous post here.

Have you tired these palettes yet? What are your thoughts on them? and which one is your favourite? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
