Spring/Summer 2014 | Pretty Palettes - Drugstore

Hey Beauties...
So here in the UK Spring has finally arrived, well in most parts of the UK at least. So I thought I would share with you my top eyeshadow palette picks, which I think have gorgeous shades perfect for the spring/summer months. I have decided to do two post on this, one with 'Drugstore' palettes you can find at your local drugstore, and the other 'Highend' palettes that are a bit more pricey.

So let me show you my top 3 drugstore palettes for spring/summer this year.

MUA Glitter Ball Palette
MUA Glitter Ball Palette | £4.00

The first palette I would have to chose for a spring look is MUA's Glitter Ball Palette, I picked this palette in Superdrug not too long ago, but for some reason I can't find it anywhere online, maybe its out of stock?

As you can see this palette has some gorgeous shades for spring. There are 4 shades in this palette I feel I will be using a lot this spring and they are, the peach, pink, purple and white. I just think they scream spring to me. I have created a spring look with this palette which you can read here. This palette does leave quite a bit of fall out but thats expected with glitters, plus the palette does only cost £4.00. They shades are nicely pigmented for such an affordable palette and do last pretty well on the lids, akthough I find they do need a primer.

Sleek i-Divine i-Candy Palette
Sleek i-Divine i-Candy Palette | £7.99
The Sleek i-Divine i-Candy palette came out last year as part of their 'limited edition' Candy Collection, which you can actually still purchase so I'm thinking they may have decided to keep it around after all (yay!)

I was obsessed with this palette last spring/summer and I think I will be again this year. It has a gorgeous mixture of mattes and shimmers perfect for creating a whole look with just one palette. The colours in this palette, are  really bright and perfect for spring. They really do remind me of a bag of dolly mix, the pigmentation of sleek palettes are amazing and they last really well with or without a primer. I reviewed the whole Candy Collection here.

Sleek i-Divine Garden of Eden
Sleek i-Divine Garden of Eden | £7.99
This palette is a new addition to the Sleek i-Devine sets, and I'm happy to say it's permanent . The Garden of Eden palette is my new favourite palette. I can definitely see that I will be using this a while lot this spring/summer.

Just how gorgeous does this palette look right? this palette is inspired by mother nature's earthy tones and the tropical rain forest. I don't usually like green eyeshadows (they remind me of the praying mantas bug woman in buffy the vampire slayer) but this palette has just the right tones and shades of greens, that also go perfectly with the golds and purple tones in the palette! you can read my full review here and see my gorgeous spring look with this palette here.

So these are the three 'drugstore' palettes that I think are a must have for this Spring/Summer and can't wait to start getting more use out of them. If your in the market for something a little more pricey keep an eye out for my 'Highend' palettes coming soon.

Have you tried any of these palettes yet? What are your favourites for Spring/Summer I'd love to know.

  7. I was looking at the MUA palette for ages last time I went to Superdrug, but I decided not to buy it. After looking at your swatches though, I think I prefer the look of the Garden of Eden palette - beautiful! xx
