Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation | Review

Hey Beauties...
Recently I have been adventuring into the world of foundation, usually I hate the fell of foundation (or anything for that matter) on my face, but last year I tried Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation and fell in love. I have also noticed my skin isn't quite as clear as it used to be (possibly due to stress and me wearing more make-up recently) anyway I decided I wanted to try Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation I first bought 040 fawn, as thats the shade I usually go for, although that shade will be perfect for summer when I'm tanned, I seem to be a little more pale then usual, and decided to purchase 030 Sand, which is perfect for me at the moment.

I had heard this foundation is meant to be really light weight on the skin and Maybelline claim:
"Improves the look of skin instantly. It also reduces the appearance of the visible effects of stress including bumps, dullness and redness. It evens out the discolouration and brightens dull areas, providing a healthy-looking glow from day to night."

Sounds right up my street at the moment! It also has an added bonus of SPF20  perfect for the summer weather especially if it is as lightweight as they say. The formula has been dermalogically tested and suitable for sensitive skin as it contains no perfume and is non-comedogenic (meaning it will not clog your pores which can lead to breakouts!) This foundation also gives you the promise of better looking skin within 3 weeks of use, hmmm?!

Now onto my thoughts of the foundation:

Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation | £8.99
I can happily tell you the formula of this foundation is very light weight, blends effortlessly and gives you a gorgeous flawless finish. I was really surprised to find out that the foundation is full coverage, as it is so light weight I was expecting a more light-medium coverage. It really does cover redness and imperfections really well leaving you with a gorgeous glow and even skin tone. Once the product has set, which doesn't take long, it really feels like you have nothing on your face, there is slight transfer of product if you wipe your face with tissue or brush up on an item of clothing, which is a pain. But is does last all day on the face and I haven't experenced any slip or sliding away, even without setting with a powder. I will however suggest if you have oily skin, it is best to set with a powder just to stop any shine coming through towards the end of the day.

I used this for a good 3-4 weeks and I can honestly say my skin did look better, the redness round my nose had calmed down, my skintone looks slightly more even and my skin feels softer and healthier all round! So yes I do think it helps to improve the skin, even if it is slightly.

Overall I really do love this foundation and feel it lives up to the expectations perfectly. The only down side I would say is the fact it transfers and can leave you shiny at the end of the day other then that I am in-love! Definitely a good full coverage for the summer months! Is this a 'drugstore' dupe for Urban Decay Naked Skin?? Very possibly! although I do love my UD foundation more! but it is a close match, so if your looking for a more affordable foundation then UD's Naked Skin I highly recommend trying this one out.

Have you tried this foundation? I'd love to know your thoughts on it!

  1. I'm still really iffy about trying this out, been reading many reviews and they're really mixed on how good it actually is so i'm having trouble making up my mind! It looks great on you though! x

    1. To be honest I don't have really "bad" skin so this was really nice on me and I did notice my skin looking and feeling better I think it depends on how your skin is before you use it! It's always worth trying out for yourself as everyone is different plus it's not too pricey either!

Let me know if you do try it and how you get on with it

      Much love
