MUA || Velvet Lip Lacquers Kooky and Funk || Review + Swatches

Hey Beauties...

If you have been following my blog for a while, or follow me on twitter. You may know I have a huge obsession with Lip products, and recently I have been loving the matte look. So when I heard MUA had brought out these gorgeous Velvet Lip Lacquers I know I just had to try them!

MUA say:
"Get the ultimate velvet-matte pout with this richly pigmented, silky, smooth lip lacquer. The quick-dry formula glides on effortlessly to leave a gorgeous matte finish that is smudge-proof and long-lasting"

I do love the packaging of these lip lacquers. The outer packaging looks very sleek and elegant, and the tubes themselves feel smooth and almost velvety to touch.

These Lip Lacquers are part of the MUA Lux London range. There are 5 shades in total which are:

-Kooky
-Reckless
-Atomic
-Criminal
-Funk

I currently own two shades, the first shade I purchased was:

Kooky:
Velvet Lip Lacquer - Kooky || £3.00

Kooky is a very dark purple shade. When I purchased this I wasn't expecting it to be so dark and purple, I was expecting a deep plum shade. However I do quite like this shade, I will admit it is a little daring for me and I will probable only really wear it on special occasions.

The second shade I purchased was:

Funk:
Velvet Lip Lacquer - Funk || £3.00

Funk is a gorgeous bright pink shade, I have featured this in a previous Make-up Monday post, and I have received loads of compliments when I wear this. It is definitely my favourite out of the two and I think it is the perfect pink shade, especially for spring summer.

The application of this product is effortless and glides on, the lip lacquers do feel very silky and velvety when applying. It does dry pretty quickly considering it goes on like a normal lip lacquer, however I did find it to be quite tacky to touch while drying, so I find it best not to move my mouth while it dries, so its good that it does dry quickly. Once it is dry though it feels completely matte with a touch of velvet.

The lasting power is pretty impressive, I have found it to last all day and even when it comes to taking it off at night I have to really scrub to completely remove it. The only thing I didn't really like about it is that it does flake when removing, but that's not really a major issue for me.

Overall I really do love these lip lacquers and will definitely look into getting some more shades to add to my collection. I also love the fact that these, despite looking more high end, are only £3! from most superdrug stores or online, What an absolute bargain! From what I have seen of the other shades in the collection, I would have to say 'Funk' is the only colour that I personally would wear all year round. The others seem to be really nice dark, autumn winter shades. So hopefully they will bring out some more spring/summer colours for this year.

Have you tried these Lip Lacquers yet? What are your thoughts on them? I'd love to know!
