Nivea | Lip Butter | Review & My Thoughts

Hello everyone...
I have heard about these little beauties a lot on youtube so I decided to buy some and give them a shot. I  have only seen three flavours, Original, Caramel Cream and Raspberry Rose, but I have seen on the website that they do vanilla & macadamia, I haven't seen this one in the shops though.

As you can see by the picture I decided to get
Nivea Lip Butter Caramel Cream
Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose

These lip butters are very creamy and nourishing on your lips, and are only £1.99 in superdrug, great value for money!! I love the texture and feel of them, they are nothing like the usual lip balms and they are a lot creamier then the Body shop lip butters I love the tin as even if you have nails it makes it easy to get product out and your not finding yourself digging your nail in to get product out.

They smell absolutely amazing! Smell wise I prefer the Raspberry one but when it comes to applying on my lips I prefer the Caramel one as I love the taste of it haha.

The only down side for me is that it contains Almond Oil and doesn't clearly say that on the back of the tin but if you look online it does say in the description and in the ingredients on the back of the tin it says, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Which after searching online I discovered is another name for Sweet Almond Oil. Personally I would expect them to have written that in brackets or just plainly said sweet almond Oli considering the amount of people with nut allergies. I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy for bringing this up BUT my other half Oli has a sever (literally life threatening) allergy to nuts, Almonds are his worst! and as my little girl could also have the allergy I have to be careful with what I use.
I did however see a picture on a blog post done by someone in america and on the ingredients on the back of the tin it does say "(sweet Almond oli)" next to Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, so maybe its just the ones in the UK or just the ones that I bought, who knows.

As I have only just found this information out today and myself and my daughter have used this product I will continue to use this product as she did not appear to have a reaction, and neither did Oli after I used it, but I don't think I will be letting Tia use this any more just in case.

All in all I think these are great and I love them! They really do moisturise my lips and make them feel really soft, also helping with the application of lipsticks ect.

Overall View:

  • What rating would I give this product: 9/10 but that is purely because it doesn't CLEARLY say it contains Almond Oils.
  • Would I recommend this product: Yes definitely if your not allergic to nuts!!!
  • Would I repurchase this product: Possibly if my other half doesn't end up with a reaction from me using it.
  • Is this product worth the hype: Most definitely! Really does do what is says on the tin ;)
Let me know if you have tried this product and what you thought of it!

Also if you previously followed my blog let me know what you think of the name change :)  I changed it so it matches my URL to avoid confusion :)

  1. I know this post is a bit old, but I just did a check on the back of my tin, and it does, in fact, say "sweet almond oil". Wonder why it is on the US packaging, but not the UK packaging. That's just strange. x

    1. It's weird and the original one says sweet almond :/ Maybe it was a misprint on that batch or something lol thanks for the comment :) xx
