Collection || Cream Puff Lip Cream || Review and My Thoughts

So I recently read a blog post from The Sunday Girl on The Forgotten Favourites and she mentioned the Collection (formally known as collection 2000) Cream Puff Lip Creams and until that day I have never heard of them! but reading the post she mentioned that they were highly raved about in the blogging community and since I'm pretty knew to all this I hadn't heard or read about them...
So of course I went down to my local superdrug in town and bought one to see what the fuss was about as The Sunday Girl had said that they are "wonderful little matte creams"
I for one love matte lips! I hate the feeling of something being on my lips especially if its sticky so I thought these would be perfect for me.. Lets just say in the end I bought 3 out of the 4 colours available! (oops)

so this is what theses little beauties look like :)they retail at an amazing £2.99 each! which is half the price of most lip products.

The first colour I bought and tried out was..
Fairy cake 3
The lighting in the picture of my lips isn't very good but this colour is like a pinky orange coral kind of colour! I really like it, and as you can see it doesn't really look like I have anything on my lips! The staying power is pretty impressive considering the price of it, I managed to get it to stay on for about 6 hours. Once its dried it doesn't really rub off too much from eating and it doesn't leave a nice lip mark on you glasses when you drink. After about 4-6 hours it does tend to look a bit cracked and rubbed off along the inner parts of your lips and if your not careful can leave you looking like you just have lip liner on.

So I went back to Superdrug to get a pinkier shade and noticed that they were on 2 for £4 well who could resist that so of course I picked up 2 :)

The second colour I chose was...
Cotton candy 1
Which as you can see is a gorgeous baby pink colour! This is my all time favourite shade! I'm seriously in love with it.. if you love baby pink or Barbie pink lip colours like I do you will love this and I highly recommend this!

The last shade I picked up is..

Powder puff 2
This shade I'm a little disappointed in, I like the colour but for some reason as you can probably see the formula seems to be a little too creamy and looks like colour has split (almost the same effect as curdled milk yuck!) However from afar you cant notice so I'm kind of in two minds about this one. I don't know if its just my lips or if its the actually formula of the product so if you have tried this shade please please please let me know if it does it with you or if I'm the only one it has happened to :(

I'm thinking of going back and getting the other shade which is called angel delight, Its a creamy light brown shade, I'm not sure if it will suit me or not but for £2.99 would it matter? You won't know until you've tried it right?

Overall these are definitely a product that has left me thinking "where have you been all my life" and "why have I not discovered these before??"
So if you're in the market for new lip products, lets face it we all over indulge in lip products! I hold my hands up to that even though I hardly wear lip products haha, I highly highly recommend these!

I am now definitely a convert to Collection makeup. I used to use collection make-up when I was about 14 but I never really appreciated quality of makeup.

Overall view:

  • Would I recommend this product: YES! definitely if you love matte lip and pinky colours.
  • Is this product worth the money: Yes its so inexpensive but just as high quality as more expensive brands iv tried!
  • would I repurchase this product: Yes!!
  • Does this product live up to the hype: Definitely!!
  • Would i purchase anything else from this makeup brand: Yes I think I'm going to try their concealer next :)
So I hope you enjoyed reading this review and you should definitely go out and buy at least one!!
